The Bloody War

The Bloody War was a war between orcs and human kind. The War took place over 100 years ago, during the Age of Fire. It is called the Bloody War because of the extreme loss of life it involved, and because of the famous quote of General Vorn after the war. The orcs had lived in the northern, colder reaches of Othyr for decades, apparently content with their lot. No one suspected that the entire time enmity between the orcs and the humans was brewing as the orc chieftains’ grew angry at imagined wrongs. The orcs hated the cold tundras they were forced to live on and blamed the humans for their status, when in reality it was their own ancestors who had settled in the cold centuries before, to escape predators. After years of raids on northern towns, the King at the time was forced to declare war on the belligerent orcs. The ensuing war was costly in both coin and life. The Bloody War is a terrible chapter in Othyr’s past, one that almost completely annihilated the orc population.

The Bloody War Many Orc Shamans led factions or bands into battle. This is an example of a Shaman twisted beyond normal appearances by the sheer amount of arcane energy wielded. In tribes that lacked Shaman, the Tribe Chieftain appointed trusted warriors to lead.
